Get involved and help children Dream!Every person should be able to achieve the dreams...

SER was born out of the need to help the less favored children in some areas of Latin America. Our mission is to teach and assure children that their circumstances do not determine the person that they can become.
Our after-school programs and workshops will give them the opportunity to expand their minds and develop critical thinking. We aim to awaken self-love and self-confidence by turning their natural gifts and talents into strengths to improve their development, to give them vision and hope for the future.

Mission Statement

SER’s primary mission is to teach and assure children that their circumstances do not determine the person that they can become.

SER offers resources underserved children in Latin America need to cultivate their natural talents for technology, music, art and higher learning.

We offer educational curriculum, tutoring, leadership training and materials to children in local schools, orphanages and neighborhood programs using an After-school Program model.

We create empowerment in children by teaching them critical thinking and by weaving social skill into the fabric of our training.

We expand children's horizons by exposing them to other cultures and world-views in order to make them global citizens. The children get an immersive experience with technology, giving them a competitive exposure to fields like videography, photography and online learning.

We partner with schools and health clinics in order to connect children and their families with health and nutrition education and resources.

Learning is hands-on, with activities such as chess, team sports, technology and educational games written into the curriculum.

About Us

SER is a team of Dreamers who believe that every person should be able to achieve the dreams in their lives no matter the circumstances.  Although we are at our beginning stage, we have a great community of supporters at home in the United States and in Latin America. Our first project is in Puebla, Mexico, and our ultimate goal is to expand to Central and South America and the Caribbean. We are aware that children deeply need extra support in their education, not only regarding academics, but also personal growth, hygiene, nutrition, and ethics. Especially in underprivileged communities we know that poverty plays the main role in the reason children do not live out their highest potential.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?"
Children who live in poverty seldom get asked this question. They are not encouraged to dream. They are not told that the sky is the limit for them.
Getting beyond their immediate surroundings seems impossible. Advanced degrees--even finishing high school--are pipe dreams. They are not encouraged to become physicists or marine biologists or accomplished writers, for example.
In dreaming, equality doesn’t exist. For some children, poverty has consumed their natural talents. Their caregivers are focused on trying to make ends meet, but impoverished children's wings are clipped at an early age.

Our goal at SER is to let these children's lives and dreams take flight! We believe your circumstances do not have to limit the person you become. With the space to dream and the necessary supports, we believe these children can become anything they want to be!

One of our many objectives is to develop the child's talents and allow them to discover opportunities for their future. We hope to stimulate their thinking and imagination by exposing them to career and entrepreneurial opportunities and various resources.

In cooperation with other organizations, such as schools and free health clinics, our follow-up plan includes family participation, thus expanding the benefits to the whole household.

The funds will come through grants, individual & business entities’ donations and fundraising.

Because we are at our beginning stage we are collecting clothes, shoes and school materials. However, we will utilize the local businesses in the children’s communities to stimulate their economy.

Giovanni Camillieri was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He has pursued a career in sales for the last 24 years. Very early in his life, he started to become involved in charity work and serving the community. At age 11, he was already visiting the elderly at nursing homes and visiting the young children of different orphanages. Together with other people that were with him, they use to perform magic, sing songs and talked with the elderly and the children in order to encourage them. Once in the United States, Giovanni continued to help and serve the community through an organization called Hope for Kids (later renamed “Hope World Wide”). Serving countless hours in different projects from helping bring children immunization awareness to lower income communities to serving food to the homeless. This same passion is still driving Giovanni today to continue serving the community after 35 years. He still volunteers his time with Hope World Wide projects as well as many other non-for profit organizations that help and reach out to the local community and feed the homeless. Giovanni is very proud to be able to be part of SER, since children have always had a special place in his heart. He loves to volunteer in his local church with the children’s ministry, and is looking forward to seeing the great impact that can be made for the children in Mexico, as well as their families through SER.

Eliana V. Vera, from an early age, has been very aware of the needs of people around her. She grew up spending lots of time in Colombia, New York City, and Mexico, and she frequently saw children asking for money in the streets. Even though it was clear they were underprivileged, Eliana was moved by the joy she always found on the children’s faces as they played and laughed in the streets. As a youth seeing this firsthand, Eliana was so eager to help, she offered her meager allowance to those children in need. While she went on to graduate from the City University of New York with a Bachelor Degree in I/O Psychology and a Minor in International Marketing, Eliana never lost her passion to serve. She eventually left a stable, reliable position with a communications multimedia corporation to start her own non-profit organization, SER. This organization would embrace that joyful spark of children in poverty and teach them to believe they are worth more than their societal and economical status; they are valuable and capable of any dream they could imagine! Eliana recently moved from New York City to Veracruz, Mexico to be closer to the communities SER serves.
